HOW MANY JERSEYS SHOULD A TEAM ORDER? COMPLETE GUIDE
Ordering too few jerseys means someone's playing in a mismatched shirt. Ordering too many wastes money. Here's how to calculate the exact right number for your team.
THE FORMULA
Playing members + substitutes + 2-3 extras in common sizes = your order quantity. For a cricket XI: 11 players + 4 substitutes + 3 extras = 18 jerseys minimum. For a football team: 11 + 7 subs + 3 extras = 21 jerseys.
WHY YOU NEED EXTRAS
Last-minute additions to the squad, replacement for damaged jerseys mid-season, a player who gained or lost weight and needs a different size, VIP guests who want to join a friendly match, and the inevitable 'I forgot my jersey at home' situation.
SIZE DISTRIBUTION FOR EXTRAS
Order your extras in the most common sizes — typically M, L, and XL. These sizes fit the widest range of body types in an emergency. Avoid ordering extras in XS or XXL unless you know someone specifically needs them.
MULTI-SEASON PLANNING
If you play year-round, consider ordering 2 sets — a primary set for matches and a practice/backup set. The practice set can be a simpler, cheaper design in the same colors. This doubles the lifespan of your primary jerseys.
